Bill McCarty, Ph. D. Associate Professor of Web IT, School of Business and Management, Azusa Pacific University

Dr. William McCarty is Associate Professor of Web and Information Technology in the School of Business and Management of Azusa Pacific University, Azusa, California. He earned his Ph.D. in the Management of Information Systems at The Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California. Previous to his academic career, Dr. McCarty worked as a software developer and manager in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. He was previously the Director of Computing for Rio Hondo College in Whittier California, a California Community College. Dr. McCarty's research interests include open source software and information security. He is the author of over one dozen books and numerous published articles. His latest book, Red Hat Linux Firewalls, deals with open source information security issues. He is also the author of Learning Red Hat Linux, a best-selling introduction to the Linux open source operating system.
