Course length:1 day(s) ITIL V2-V3 FOUNDATIONS BRIDGE COURSE ITIL V2 to V3 Foundations Bridge course covers the key differences and benefits of the changes in ITIL v3. The focus of this course will be on the new service lifecycle approach to planning and designing new and changed services. COURSE INFORMATION: The ITIL V2 to V3 Bridge course includes copies of the training material as well as reference documentation. This one-day class offers a high level view of the concepts new to ITIL v3,identifying added processes and functions and the role of each of the phases in the Service Lifecycle to ensure IT Service Management best practices. The class features lectures, discussion, team exercises and quizzes. It culminates with an optional, thirty minute (20 questions) certification examination. The class covers new/changed concepts and definitions/terms in processes and functions covered in V2 predominately as follows: * SERVICE OPERATION: Event and Access Management and Request Fulfillment processes, Technical and Application support functions * SERVICE TRANSITION: Program/Project Risk Management, Service Asset and Configuration Management processes, CMS, DML * SERVICE STRATEGY: Service Economics, ROI, Service Portfolio Management, and Demand Management * SERVICE DESIGN: Service Catalog Management, Supplier Management, Information Security Management * CONTINUAL SERVICE IMPROVEMENT: Review, Audit, and Metrics through the 7 step Service Improvement process and Knowledge Management COURSE BENEFITS: * Awareness of the IT service lifecycle and the concepts, principles, processes and functions associated with each phase * Understanding of how to measure and improve current processes to more successfully manage an IT infastructure * Appreciation of a proactive approach to the IT/customer relationship * Professional certification that is recognized world-wide and the increased credibility with customers, peers and partners PREREQUISITE: Any student that wishes to take the ITIL V3 Bridge exam must be certified on Foundations V2. CERTIFICATION PROCESS: For those who choose the option, a thirty minute, 20 multiple question certification exam, proctored by EXIN is offered immediately at the conclusion of this class. This class is designed to augment previous V2 Foundations certification (and that certification is a pre-requsite to sit for the Bridge exam). It will bring students who have a firm level of ITIL knowledge ( material prior to the release of the V3 books ) to an awareness of the differences in the V3 body of work over the V2 body of work. WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS CLASS: Students who are confident in the level of their ITIL V2 knowledge as evidenced by a recent certification ( i.e. within 6-9 months) and/or a fairly common use of ITIL practices and process interactions in their day to day environment.
